ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ

BRISTOL, R.I. – From concept to design, the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ architecture community created a colossal impression upon the 2016  in Portland, Maine. In the most recent professional competition, 18 of the 41 award-winning projects were influenced by ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ. They were either designed by ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ faculty, alumni or a partner that has instructed undergraduate or graduate architecture students via the Teaching Firms in Residence program in the School of Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation.

The annual awards program recognizes design excellence in projects in New England or by New England architects. The competition considered 237 projects for contention in the region’s most-sought industry awards, which were reviewed by a New York-based jury of professional architects.

Awards were conveyed in a number of categories in three classifications: honor (as the highest level of achievement), merit, and citation. In addition to the juried review, two awards in the People’s Choice category – which were selected via online voting open to the public – were taken home by an ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ Teaching Firm in Residence and a firm employing several alumni.
