The Community Service Work-Study (CSWS) program enables students with a federal work-study award to earn their funds in the community at non-profit or municipal organizations.

If you are interested in securing a work-study position in a community service setting, or to receive more in depth information, please contact the Center for Engaged Learning at engage@rwu.edu. You can also fill out a community service work study interest form on by searching “Community Engagement” – once there, look in “forms”. Staff will receive your inquiry and contact you to schedule a referral.
Don't see anything that interests you below? Please check for other opportunities. Many unpaid internships hosted by non-profit organizations can make great community service work study positions if they meet the following criteria:
- Student must have a federal work study award
- Service must be at a non-profit organization or government/municipal agency
- Positions must be vetted by the Center for Engaged Learning
- All positions must be in Rhode Island
Before working in any community service work-study opportunity, all students MUST start at the Center for Engaged Learning (inside the farm house across from the Lower Commons). ܽƵ must approve all job descriptions before authorizing participation and students are responsible for completing all work-study paperwork prior to working.
