Student Accessibility Services: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Access
Many heroes for many years advocated and protested, promoting equal civil rights for people with disabilities until the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed by Congress in 1990 and signed into law by President George H.W. Bush.
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ (ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ) supports all students with disabilities in the academic and physical environments; we are also committed to promoting and supporting all members of the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ community in the richness of their personal identity, as part of the diversity and inclusion efforts at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ.
We work with all units of ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ to support inclusion and support academic success. Especially, in this context, we work closely with the Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to support our students’ social needs, and sense of pride in acknowledging their identities.
Our collaboration with the programs and projects in the Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is part of our mission to reduce bias, increase inclusive values, and contribute to social justice and equal opportunity for all students at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ.
